Experienced Goalie?

It seems like the competition at goalie is wide open. Nobody really setting themselves apart.

I think they will keep all the 16 year olds to get them playing time for next year since they can handle their own.

Goalies: I thought Flodell would be the easy cut coming into this, but he is the only one standing out right now and I don't know how the team could justify letting him go if he plays this well on the weekend. I think if he stays though, Mumaugh is a goner. Then maybe we roll with three for a while and see who steps it up in the regular season. at the very least I think Flodell deserves to start the season with the team, barring any major meltdowns this weekend.
Defense: I think we will see Douglas gone for good after this weekend. That is my gut reaction anyway. My reason says leave Bear to mature for one more season, or try and deal Wolf for low draft pick.
Offense: Why cut anybody? We have 14, let's keep them all. Elliot, Pederson, Kolesar and Folk can share time until somebody gets injured (which WILL happen). If you have to cut someone though, definitely take Folk.

My wish list for a top line and 3rd line:
LW: Lipsbergs C: Barzal RW: Honey
OR
LW: Delnov C:Hickman RW: Troock
Shut down Line:
LW: Sheen C:Eansor RW: Swenson
OR
LW: Elliot C:Hickman RW:Swenson
Defense:
Theodore-Hauf
Forsberg- Smith (liked this pair last year)
Wardley-Foulk
Alternates--Wolf, Bear (or Douglas)
Goalies: (1)Myles (2)Fordyce (3)Flodell
PP1--LW-Lipsbergs-C-Barzal-RW-Honey-D1-Theodore-D2-Forsberg
PK1--F1-Hickman-F2-Swenson-D1-Smith-D2-Hauf

The question is, Has Fordyce been better than the other three? If he hasn't then why keep him, he likely wouldn't be here as an overage player next season. I'd roll with Myles and Mumaugh this season and pull the trigger on a trade(or call up Flodell) if it looks like they are struggling.

Having been able to watch some of the preseason games, some good looking young talent in the system, especially Barzal of course (wow). As a green 16, he seemed to handle the puck and pass better than any one else on the ice. Of course Douglas's size is nice but I'm concerned about his puck handling at this point, not sure he is really ready for the WHL just yet. What I saw of Flodell I liked. Pederson looked like a promising player. Nice to see Troock back on the ice. GO BIRDS!

Nick Paterson of the Herald says Floedel has been sent down. Great Barzal video on WHL website. Also Forsberg not playing tonight. Is a trade in the works?

I like the young talent. We know Barzal is talented but I really like Pederson and the flexibility of playing him center (natural spot) and wing.
